Upgrade your Nexus S with latest Gingerbread 2.3.4

If you are a lucky latest Nexus S owner with 2.3.3 firmware and you experience a bad update or you simply can't wait the OTA upgrade to 2.3.4 as announced by Google Mobile Team. You can follow this instructions to get your device up to date.



Although I have tested the following procedure with my own device (and it worked!), this procedure is at your own risks.


The delivery package provided here is only appliable for the specific category 
Baseband: I9023XXKB3
Build number: GRI54

English instructions:

  1. Download the following file: http://android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/google_crespo/da8206299fe6.signed-soju-ota-121341.da820629.zip
  2. Upload it on your device's SDCARD (automaticaly mounted).
  3. rename it into update.zip
  4. shutdown the device
  5. boot it up via pressing at the same time <volume up> + <power>
  6. select "rescue menu"
  7. Wait for the triangle pictogram sign
  8. Do <volume down>, then <volume up> while keeping pressed <power>
  9. select your "/sdcard", then indicate the file : "update.zip"
  10. Validate with <power>
  11. Chose reboot.

After the patch applied, the first reboot is going to take a lot of time. This is normal.

Procédure à suivre

  1. Récupérer le fichier suivant : http://android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/google_crespo/da8206299fe6.signed-soju-ota-121341.da820629.zip
  2. l'uploader sur la SDCARD (montée automatiquement dans votre ordi
  3. la renommer en update.zip
  4. éteindre le mobile
  5. l'allumer en faisant <volumeup>+ <power>
  6. aller dans le menu "rescue"
  7. attendre le petit pictogram triangulaire
  8. Faire après <volumeup>, puis <volumeup> en maintenant <power>
  9. sélectionner "/sdcard", puis "update.zip"
  10. <power> pour valider
  11. choisir rebooter.

Ça prendra un peu de temps. C'est normal.
